Ahoy hoy
Today was freaking BRAIN-OVERLOAD.
We studied for 2.5 hours learning all of the irregular verbs.. OMG. If you have ever learned a new language like Spanish, you know what I mean. Its like, here are 100 verbs, now conjugate them and know them and speak them! Yikes! There is so much we've done already, but its great. We have a new rule starting tomorrow: no more speaking English during class! Yikes! Love it.
So for those of you back home who speak the language, I can't wait to show off my new skills!
We took a break at 11:30 to go have lunch and go to the Teatro Nacional. Today's performance was just, oh yah know, a regular child prodigy pianist. Holy crap she's have Beethoven turning in his grave!! And oh! How she put so much feeling into it! The girl was 9 and she had more passion for her songs than I have had for anything! Picture a maestro of an orchestra, the way he or she would flutter their hand like so, and bob their head emphasizing every beat and drum of the music. That was this girl. From Costa Rica, the tickets did not tell of her name, but I will find out for you, so that you can call Ellen and we can get her on the show!
We (and when I say we, I am meaning Jenn, Maria, and I) came home for a quick rest and then continued to plow through more material. Maria is crazy. She is very persistent yet unsure, yet graceful and clumsy. Take yesterday morning.. she enters the house at 8:30 says nothing excepts "Vamos a comencar"... (Let's begin) lol! I love the enthusiasm but allow me to grab a coffee first :)
My favourite is when we drive with her. Costa Rican's generally are bad drivers, sure, but when you drive with one, shit happens! On Saturday, when we went up the mountain, on the way down she thought her brakes had ceased to work, so without hesitation, blasts the car into park, and throws on the emergency break, this made the wheels screech and the transmission nearly drop from under the car. Oi :| . This happened twice before Jenn and I told her to relax, and use the foot break. Everything was just fine, we picked up our hearts up off the floor of the car and were off to the bar.
She's a funny lady. Couldn't ask for a better coordinator! Ah... Maria.
So today while we were out Jenn introduced me to Trits, an Ice Cream Sandwich like no other. Move over Oreo!! There's a new cookie sandwich in town! These things are freakin' amazing and I recommend anyone travelling to this country to have one. MmmMMmmm
Tonight we went to the Auto Mercado to pick up some essentials. For me it was Wine, Ice Cream and Jasmine Green Tea. Jenn grabbed these wicked fried ring things called Bizcochos Horneados.. made of flour, cheese, butter and salt.. yes. awesome.
Tonight its going to be a little boring, as we (Jenn and I) have muchas tareas (lots of homework).
I will bid you adieu for now.
